HOW TO OIL CLEANSE

Oil cleansing is a time-tested skincare ritual that's gaining popularity for its ability to deeply cleanse and nourish the skin. It's also the quickest way to remove all makeup, pollution, sunscreen and built up sweat for the day.

A few myths to bust:

Oil cleansing will break me out

A: no, not our oil as we use oils with very low comedogenic ratings (meaning they have low to no chance of clogging your pores).

Oil cleansers leave you with an oily residue that takes time to remove

A: Some oil cleansers may leave a residue, however we have an ingredient that turns the oil to a milky formula when you add water. This means it removes easily and leaves ZERO residue.

Oil cleansing is for the ladies only

A: SISU products are genderless. In fact one of our customers finds it especially beneficial for cleansing their beard. Regardless of makeup use cleansing effectively is critical for skin health.

So now that we cleared that up, how do you oil cleanse.....

Step 1: Start with Clean, Dry Hands and Face

Before you begin your oil cleanse ensure your hands and face are both clean and dry. This sets the stage for a more effective cleansing process. Clean hands prevent transferring any unwanted dirt or bacteria to your face, and a dry face allows the oil to work its magic without interference.

Step 2: Apply a Generous Amount of your Oil Cleanser

Dispense a generous amount onto your dry hands. A few pumps will do the trick. The texture of this cleanser is silky smooth, making it easy to work with.

Step 3: Massage for 60 Seconds (Or Up to 30 Minutes)

Gently massage the SISU Oil Cleanser onto your dry face for at least 60 seconds. This step is essential as it helps break down makeup, sunscreen, and other impurities on your skin's surface. The massaging motion also promotes better circulation and relaxation. Focus on areas where you get congestion like the hair line.

You can absolutely use this to remove eye makeup, gently massage to remove mascara and any eye makeup and use the cloth to gently remove the product.

For those who desire an even deeper cleanse, you can indulge in a longer oil cleansing massage, going up to 30 minutes. This extended session can help remove stubborn oil plugs and deeply cleanse your pores. However, it's essential to practice moderation. We recommend this intensive treatment no more than once a week to avoid over-stripping your skin's natural oils.

Step 4: Emulsify with Water

The magic of oil cleansing happens when you introduce water. Emulsify the SISU Oil Cleanser on your face by gently wetting your fingertips and continuing to massage. This action transforms the oil into a milky cleanser, effectively lifting away impurities and leaving your skin feeling refreshed.

Step 5: Remove with a Microfiber Cloth

To complete the oil cleansing process, use a soft microfiber cloth (a normal wash cloth is also perfectly fine) to gently wipe away the emulsified oil and impurities from your face. Microfiber is gentle on the skin and will remove any long wearing eye makeup and waterproof mascara and helps ensure all the cleanser is removed, leaving your skin perfectly clean.

Step 6: Follow with Your Normal Cleanser

Oil cleansing is a powerful first step, but for a thorough cleanse, it's important to follow up with your regular cleanser. This will remove any remaining residue and prepare your skin for the next steps in your skincare routine.

Oil cleansing with SISU Oil Cleanser is a luxurious and effective way to give your skin the care it deserves. By following these steps, you can enjoy a deep and nourishing cleansing experience that leaves your skin looking and feeling its best. Remember to adapt the oil cleansing massage duration to your skin's needs, emulsify with water for that perfect finish, and complete the process with your usual cleanser for a radiant complexion. Your skin will thank you!
